long days...

Yes, counting 82 days is a long process, but we're down to 31 or so. It doesn't seem to be infinite any more! I am looking forward to being in Waterloo, Vienna and at home! (Of course mostly Waterloo ;-) and btw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !)

I didn't go skiing at all any more. That last day was so great (and I believe it was day 21, right?) that I didn't feel like going again in mediocre weather conditions. Unfortunately the weather was quite unstable throughout the last month. I did a lot of biking though. To SFU, Northshore and I am slowly getting into it. I am still not as adventurous as I'd like to be, but I think I am getting better... I went out with Bryan a couple of times and on the bike he is even better than on the board. He's doing a lot of the sick ladders, slick rocks and drops of which I always thought "who the hell is riding those!?".

I also upgraded my bike a little, with big platform pedals and a shorter stem. It seems to be a lot more rideable now. Unfortunately I launched off a small step last week and landed with a loud "KABUUUMMMMM". So now I have a:

Broken Slayer

Yep... I guess there is just no bike out there built to withstand my 75 kg! First the broken seat stay on the Specialized Stumpjumper (I guess that was some sort of bad welding there), a bent bolt in the Specialized suspension linkage and now a broken bolt with my Rocky Mountain Slayer. The bolt linking the shock to the linkage plates just snapped right off. I am pretty sure it was not loose before the ride. One of the linkage plates came of it's ball bearing and is bent in some way.

Bryan's Car

Bryan rebiult a 1969 Dodge Super Bee. He said he would take me out for a ride some time. Today he called me! It's an amazing car, and he did an amazing job. It's quite strong :-), the engine has about 8 liters displacement...
