Overview
Did you ever want to print or publish the altitude profile of a tracklog recorded with a GPS receiver? As long as you are using Garmin software you probably were not too happy - at least I wasn't! Now there is a better way to generate an elevation plot:
GPS Altitude Chart is one solution to these problems. Just export your recorded GPS tracklog in the "GPS Exchange" format with any software suitable for your device (such as Garmin MapSource, g7ToWin, Fugawi, GPS Trackmaker or other GPS brands like Magellan etc.) and you are ready to use GPS Altitude Chart.
GPS Altitude Chart displays the elevation plots over distance, time or both on the screen. The displayed elevation profiles can be saved either as a PDF file or a PNG image for further use in any kind of document or web publishing.
The profiles are zoomable and additional information like total ascend, minimum and maximum elevation, total distance or time can be displayed within the chart.
GPS Altitude Chart is cross platform Java software. It runs on Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, Linux - everywhere where Sun's Java runtime environment (Version 1.5 and newer) is available.
At the time GPS Altitude Chart is made available as donation ware. If you like the software please consider donating to my PayPal account by clicking on the "PayPal Donate" button. Any amount is highly appreciated - Thank you very much.
